Reading a book

This is a poem I wrote. I feel that the rhyming in poetry is quite similar to the rhyming in songwriting.

Reading a book is not just taking a look.
It’s more like tasting food from a professional cook.
Some books are made of toffee — sweet.
Some are made of coffee — bitter yet deep.
Some are mint-flavored — light and refreshing.
Some taste like burnt bread — dark and depressing.
