Never Stop by Nicholas Ni

This piece, titled “Never Stop,” was composed at the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, when I was nine years old, living in Beijing. At that time, the streets were empty, without a single person or vehicle, and everywhere felt lifeless. People could see no hope and didn’t know when this stagnant life would end. Sitting at the piano, I wrote this music, expressing my wish for the world to start moving again, for streets to be full of life, for people’s lives to return to normal, and for everyone to be filled with energy. A hope that never fades—never stop.
